CulinArt Beats Class Cert. In Wage-And-Hour Suit

Law360, New York (June 3, 2013, 11:05 PM EDT) -- A New York federal judge on Monday denied class certification in a suit claiming CulinArt Inc., one of the largest food service companies in the U.S., failed to pay overtime, ruling that the plaintiff had not shown the alleged practice was widespread.

U.S. District Judge Jesse M. Furman said the plaintiff, former CulinArt sous chef Osagie Ikikhueme, offered too little evidence about the company’s general practices.
