House NDAA Would Lower Contractors' Counterfeit Parts Risk

Law360, New York (June 3, 2013, 8:04 PM EDT) -- The House Armed Services Committee on Monday introduced its version of the 2014 National Defense Authorization Act, broadening a safe harbor for contractors facing liability for selling counterfeit electronic parts and rejecting a White House proposal to lower the amount that the government will pay toward contractor salaries.

The bill also adds $5 billion to President Obama's $527 billion request, using the additional funds to mitigate the across-the-board cuts of sequestration, which took into effect in March, and changes military law in an effort to reduce...
