Facebook Urges Cooperation To Tackle Mobile Security Risks

Law360, New York (June 4, 2013, 9:23 PM EDT) -- Facebook Inc.'s product security chief on Tuesday pushed for more industry collaboration and more proactive patching in order to combat growing security threats on mobile devices, a proposal backed by the Federal Trade Commission, but was met with skepticism by fellow mobile ecosystem members.

During a panel at a mobile security forum hosted by the FTC, mobile app developer Facebook, chip manufacturer Qualcomm Inc. and trade group CTIA-The Wireless Association attempted to define their roles in minimizing security vulnerabilities that can be found on mobile platforms....
