Michael Jackson A 'Mess' In '09, Concert Promoter Says

Law360, Los Angeles (June 5, 2013, 7:34 PM EDT) -- AEG Live LLC's president testified Wednesday that Michael Jackson was drunk and unstable before a 2009 London press conference, during a trial in which the concert promoter is accused of ignoring signs of the singer's declining health while pressing ahead on Jackson's ill-fated final tour.

Randy Phillips testified that he emailed his boss Tim Leiweke, then-CEO of Anschutz Entertainment Group Inc., that Jackson was “locked in his room drunk and despondent” before a press conference to publicly announced a series of 50 concerts at London's O2 Arena....
