Top NY Court Nixes Home Rule Challenge To Contractor Law

Law360, New York (June 7, 2013, 5:06 PM EDT) -- A move to loosen bidding requirements for contractors in some New York counties more than in others was a lawful exercise by the state Legislature, New York's top court ruled Thursday, rejecting a trade group's contention that the 2008 legislation violated localities' right to govern themselves.
