Corinthian, E&Y Win $1.5M From Whistleblowers' Attys

Law360, New York (June 7, 2013, 4:49 PM EDT) -- A California federal judge on Thursday hit attorneys for former Corinthian Colleges Inc. employees with $1.5 million in attorneys' fees and sanctions for a quashed whistleblower suit against the college and Ernst & Young LLP, finding they had pursued frivolous claims that the college defrauded the federal government.

Attorneys for the employees, including Scott Levy of Scott D. Levy & Associates PC, will have to pay $984,457 to Corinthian and $497,804 to Ernst & Young, according to the order. The costs stem from a 2007 suit...
