RC2 Corp. Class Action Chugs To A Close

Law360, New York (January 22, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- RC2 Corp., manufacturer of the Thomas & Friends railway products, has reached a proposed settlement for around $30 million in the nationwide class action filed after it pulled 1.5 million toys off shelves for containing lead paint.

The company revealed on Tuesday that the Cook County Circuit Court of Illinois had granted preliminary approval of the terms of the proposed settlement.

The settlement also calls for reimbursements for hundreds of thousands of consumers and RC2 to take measures to improve product safety.
