Boeing Inks $4B Army Deal For Chinook Helicopters

Law360, New York (June 11, 2013, 1:35 PM EDT) -- The Boeing Co. on Tuesday said it has signed a $4 billion multiyear deal with the U.S. Army to supply 177 of the aerospace giant’s heavy-lifting CH-47F Chinook helicopters, with the Army holding the option to bump up the total purchase to 215 aircraft.

The multiyear agreement, as opposed to annual contracts, is projected to save the government more than $800 million, according to Boeing. Deliveries of the helicopters are scheduled to begin in 2015.
