SAIC Pays $12M To Settle FCA Overbilling Claims

Law360, New York (June 13, 2013, 5:45 PM EDT) -- Government defense contractor Science Applications International Corp. has agreed to pay $11.75 million to settle a False Claims Act whistleblower suit alleging it charged the government inflated prices as part of a first-responder training subcontract, federal prosecutors said Thursday.

The settlement ends allegations that SAIC misled the government about the type of personnel it would use to provide course management, development and instruction under a government subgrant from to train first responders to “prevent and respond to terrorism events,” according to a statement released.
