Delays Imperil Rollout Of ACA Exchanges, GAO Warns

Law360, New York (June 19, 2013, 12:24 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Government Accountability Office rendered a mixed verdict Wednesday on development of Affordable Care Act health insurance exchanges, crediting the Obama administration for clearing early hurdles while cautioning that untested technology and sluggish consumer outreach are jeopardizing a “timely and smooth” rollout.

In a pair of reports, the GAO recognized that "core functional areas" are coming together while also issuing a delicately worded critique of delays that "could suggest the potential for future challenges."
