Pa. Rep Seeks To Ban Debit Card Wage Payments

Law360, Philadelphia (June 20, 2013, 5:52 PM EDT) -- A Pennsylvania state representative on Wednesday announced plans to push legislation prohibiting employers in the state from paying their employees' salaries with debit cards, after a state McDonald's franchisee was hit with a class action earlier in the week over such payments.

The proposed bill from Rep. Ed Neilson, D-Philadelphia, would amend the state's Wage Payment and Collection Act to explicitly ban the practice.
