Tremont Investors Push 2nd Circ. To Halt $100M Madoff Deal

Law360, New York (June 24, 2013, 7:26 PM EDT) -- A number of investors in Madoff feeder funds run by Tremont Group Holdings Inc. asked the Second Circuit on Monday to block a $100 million deal that settled class actions over Tremont’s alleged negligence, arguing the deal unfairly shorts them.

The deal unfairly mingled investors whose losses were almost entirely due to Bernard L. Madoff with investors at other funds, including the objectors, whose money was largely not entrusted to the Ponzi schemer, a lawyer for the objectors said at oral arguments.
