Whirlpool Chem Leaks Eroded Real Estate Values, Suit Says

Law360, Los Angeles (June 26, 2013, 4:49 PM EDT) -- Whirlpool Corp. has been slapped with a putative class action alleging the company's failure to clean up toxic chemicals leaked into the groundwater near its Arkansas-based refrigerator manufacturing plant has decimated property values for local residents. 

Named plaintiff Scott Day is seeking recompense, claiming the values of at least 55 parcels of property within the area affected by chemical leakage from Whirlpool's now-defunct Fort Smith, Ark., plant have been slashed as a result of the company's inability to clean up the spill.
