$6.6M Settlement Unsealed In GE Aviation Fraud Case

Law360, New York (June 26, 2013, 9:56 PM EDT) -- An Ohio federal judge on Wednesday revealed a $6.6 million settlement in a previously sealed False Claims Act suit over GE Aviation Systems LLC's sale of nonconforming jet fighter fuel tanks to the Navy. 

U.S. District Judge S. Arthur Spiegel unsealed the settlement at the request of the U.S. Department of Justice, which said Wednesday that the settlement was part of a multiyear investigation by the local California offices of the Defense Contract Management Agency, the Defense Contract Audit Agency, the Defense Criminal Investigative Service and the Navy Criminal Investigative Service.
