Marvel 'Ghost Rider' Ownership Case Heads To Trial

Law360, New York (June 27, 2013, 7:15 PM EDT) -- Marvel Enterprises Inc. will have to go to trial to defend its ownership of the lucrative “Ghost Rider” character, a federal judge said Thursday after the comics giant indicated it would not further appeal a Second Circuit loss to the character’s creator.

U.S. District Judge Katherine B. Forrest said trial would begin Nov. 4 in the case brought by Gary Friedrich, an artist who created the Ghost Rider character and claims that the copyright reverted to him from Marvel.
