Bankruptcy Court OKs Fraud Suit Against Lawyers

Law360, New York (January 28, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- A judge has given the green light to a suit alleging that the former lawyers of a failed Dunkin' Donuts-franchise-owning family aided in a scam by the franchisees to secretly buy back the collapsed business.

Manhattan bankruptcy judge Martin Glenn on Wednesday denied calls for the action's dismissal by law firm Rattet, Pasternak & Gordon Oliver LLP and two of its named partners, saying the U.S. trustee appointed to the bankruptcy case had standing to sue.
