GE Loses Bid To Have Turbine Patent Declared Invalid

Law360, Chicago (June 27, 2013, 5:52 PM EDT) -- An individual patent holder accusing General Electric Co. of infringing on his method for milling the root sections of turbine blade assemblies on Wednesday won partial summary judgment that his patent is valid from an Illinois federal judge.

U.S. District Judge Virginia M. Kendall granted plaintiff Henryk Oleksy's motion for summary judgment regarding validity of his U.S. Patent Number 6,449,529, titled "Process for contour machining of metal blocks," and denied GE's cross-motion.
