Law360, Los Angeles (June 28, 2013, 8:42 PM EDT) -- U.S. Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy on Sunday shot down a last-ditch bid by the backers of California’s ban on same-sex marriage to stop such unions from occurring in the wake of a Ninth Circuit order that cleared the way for new marriages.
