Contractors' Afghan Fines Reached Nine Figures: Watchdog

Law360, New York (July 1, 2013, 6:37 PM EDT) -- The Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction on Friday said it had identified hundreds of millions of dollars in penalties being levied on U.S. contractors by the Afghan government, following a damning report on over $920 million in improper Afghan taxes on U.S. operators.
