Raytheon Wins $279M Navy Electronic Jamming Contract

Law360, New York (July 9, 2013, 5:43 PM EDT) -- Defense heavyweight Raytheon Co. has won a coveted $279.4 million contract from the U.S. Navy to develop a next-generation electronic jamming system, the Navy said Monday, beating out rival Northrop Grumman Corp.

The Navy says the cost-plus-incentive-fee contract for the Next Generation Jammer technology development phase will transform how it executes its Airborne Electronic Attack mission by producing a preliminary design for new jamming pods for the EA-18G Growler AEA aircraft.
