Armstrong Can't Avoid Insurer's $3M Suit For Race Bonuses

Law360, Dallas (July 9, 2013, 8:01 PM EDT) -- A Texas state judge on Monday denied a bid by Lance Armstrong to duck an insurance company’s suit seeking the return of $3 million in bonuses it paid him for Tour de France victories now stripped away, after the cyclist argued the claims were time-barred.

In a brief order, Travis County District Judge Darlene Byrne refused to dismiss the case, after Armstrong in May argued Acceptance Insurance Co. had ample opportunity to discover the doping Armstrong later admitted after it paid him bonuses for his performance...
