Miami Beach Hotel Sues Ex-Contractor Over $42M Renovation

Law360, Miami (July 9, 2013, 6:16 PM EDT) -- The owner of Miami Beach's James Royal Palm Hotel has filed a lawsuit in Florida state court against Tatro Construction Co. LLC, claiming the general contractor mismanaged and ultimately abandoned an agreement to oversee a $42 million renovation of the hotel.

In addition to seeking damages for breach of contract over Tatro's alleged failure to execute the $5.3 million work deal, plaintiff RP Hotel Holdings LLC is also attempting to discharge a claim of lien against the property by the contractor that it says is fraudulently...
