Chase Accused Of Erasing Card Overpayments

Law360, New York (July 11, 2013, 6:03 PM EDT) -- A JPMorgan Chase & Co. credit card holder who allegedly had a 67-cent positive balance erased filed a proposed class action against the company Tuesday in New York, alleging the bank violated the terms of its cardmember agreements by eliminating balances of customers who'd overpaid.

Stanley H. Epstein’s federal court complaint claims JPMorgan and its Chase Bank USA NA subsidiary avoided reimbursing millions of customers by levying an unadvertised interest charge in the exact amount of the positive balance the customers had accrued.
