LCD Buyers Can Cash Out $318M Price-Fixing Settlement

Law360, San Francisco (July 12, 2013, 5:30 PM EDT) -- A California federal judge indicated Friday that she would allow companies that directly purchased allegedly price-fixed liquid-crystal display panels to cash out a $317.7 million fund set aside after the plaintiffs settled their claims with Chi Mei Corp. and other LCD makers almost two years ago.

The ruling would allow more than 2,800 retailers and other direct buyers of LCD panels or products containing them to recoup a portion of the money they lost from the manufacturers' purported conspiracy to fix prices on the ubiquitous technology....
