Allstate Sued Over Oakland Development's CWA Case

Law360, New York (July 18, 2013, 6:19 PM EDT) -- Allstate Insurance Co. was accused in a California federal suit on Monday of wrongfully refusing to defend an Oakland property owner who allegedly damaged a real estate developer’s land and provoked a Clean Water Act enforcement case.

Licensed civil engineer John New filed the suit after Allstate declined coverage for allegations he faced in state court from WillowB Court Development LLC, which plans on building a residential development in an underdeveloped section of the outskirts of Oakland.
