$325M Deal Puts Hyatt Into All-Inclusive Resort Market

Law360, New York (July 19, 2013, 3:34 PM EDT) -- Hyatt Hotels Corp. has struck a deal to take a $325 million stake in a Caribbean and Latin American resort developer, giving the international hotelier a foothold into the all-inclusive resort segment for the first time, according to a Friday statement.

Per the deal, which is expected to close in the third quarter pending regulatory approvals, Hyatt is nabbing a 20 percent ownership stake of Playa Hotels & Resorts BV and about $225 million worth of convertible preferred stock in the resort company, according to a...
