Newark Board Backs Overhaul For Historic Building

Law360, New York (July 23, 2013, 8:04 PM EDT) -- Newark, N.J.'s central planning board has approved plans to revamp a landmark, 400,000-square-foot building in the city's downtown into new housing and retail space, developers of the project announced Tuesday.

The plan from L+M Development Partners Inc., The Hanini Group LLC and Goldman Sachs Urban Investment Group calls for not only the redevelopment of the Hahne & Co. building at 609 Broad St., but also a new six-story building on a vacant lot on the corner of Halsey and New streets.
