Dueling Experts Can Testify In SEC Case Against Cuban

Law360, Chicago (July 23, 2013, 7:17 PM EDT) -- A Texas federal judge on Tuesday refused to bar an expert witness on each side from testifying in the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s insider trading case against Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban.

Dr. Erik R. Sirri of Babson College, Cuban’s expert, and Clemens Sialm of the University of Texas, the SEC expert, can both testify at Cuban’s trial set to begin September 30, according to a 24-page opinion from U.S. District Judge Sidney A. Fitzwater.
