NYC Panel Backs $87M Funding For FreshDirect's Bronx Move

Law360, New York (July 24, 2013, 6:10 PM EDT) -- New York City's Industrial Development Agency voted Tuesday to approve $87 million in city backing to incentivize FreshDirect LLC's planned move from Long Island City, Queens, to a new distribution center in the Bronx that the grocer says will create 1,000 jobs.

FreshDirect will be getting some $127 million in total state and city subsidies as it invests more than $100 million to build its new headquarters at Harlem River Yard, after the vote first reported by local news outlets such as NY1.
