Rihanna Ordered To Pay Fees For Deposition No-Show

Law360, New York (July 25, 2013, 12:59 PM EDT) -- A New York federal judge on Tuesday ordered Rihanna to pay over $47,000 in court fees for failing to show up at a June deposition in a suit she has brought against Berdon LLP accusing the accounting firm of extracting millions of dollars in “exorbitant” commissions.

Berdon and its employee Michael Mitnick will receive $33,850 in fees from the singer, who sued under her legal name, Robyn Fenty. Peter Gounis, another Berdon employee who has retained separate counsel in the suit, will get $13,200, according to...
