Fed. Circ. Urged To Clear Google's Copying In Java Case

Law360, New York (July 25, 2013, 5:05 PM EDT) -- Google Inc. on Monday asked the Federal Circuit to overturn a judge's ruling that its Android software infringes several lines of code from Oracle America Inc.'s Java platform, arguing that copying such a small portion should not be actionable.

Google largely prevailed last year in the closely watched case between the two tech giants, when a judge ruled that the bulk of Oracle's Java software cannot be copyrighted. Oracle is appealing that ruling and Google is cross-appealing the small part of the case it lost on....
