GOP-Backed FCC Overhaul Clears House Subcommittee

Law360, New York (July 25, 2013, 4:28 PM EDT) -- A U.S. House of Representatives subcommittee on Thursday advanced two pieces of Republican legislation that would overhaul the procedures and operations of the Federal Communications Commission.

The House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Communications and Technology approved both the FCC Process Reform Act and the FCC Consolidated Reporting Act after subcommittee chairman Rep. Greg Walden, R-Ore., reached a deal promising to address Democratic concerns before the bill is taken up by the full committee.
