Hugo Boss Settles Suit Over Customer Info Breach

Law360, New York (July 26, 2013, 8:02 PM EDT) -- Hugo Boss USA Inc. agreed to give out up to $550,000 in gift cards under a settlement entered in California federal court Friday, shutting down class claims that the upscale clothing retailer violated federal law by failing to remove sensitive payment card information from shoppers' receipts.

Lead plaintiff Travis Benware asked for preliminary approval of the deal, under which every shopper who submits a valid claim can receive a gift card valued at up to $25.
