AP, News Aggregator Reach Deal To End Copyright Fight

Law360, New York (July 29, 2013, 2:05 PM EDT) -- The Associated Press said Monday it had settled its copyright lawsuit against news aggregator Meltwater News U.S. and would start developing collaborative products with the one-time foe.

AP had claimed that Meltwater, a $100 million-a-year online clipping business, was stealing copyrighted content rather than fairly re-reporting news. The news agency won a ruling against Meltwater in March, but the company had vowed to appeal it.
