Army Won't Debar 43 Contractors Suspected Of Insurgent Ties

Law360, New York (July 30, 2013, 4:10 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Army has rejected recommendations to suspend or debar 43 contractors suspected of having ties to the insurgency in Afghanistan, the special inspector general for Afghanistan reconstruction reported Tuesday.

SIGAR had recommended quicker action to debar 43 contractors in Afghanistan who were referred on the grounds that they "were active supporters of the insurgency or were otherwise engaged in actively opposing U.S. and coalition forces in Afghanistan" or had provided "material support to persons engaged against U.S. and coalition forces in Afghanistan."
