NYC Midtown Rezoning Plan Gets Tweaks From Mayor

Law360, New York (July 31, 2013, 3:57 PM EDT) -- New York City Michael Bloomberg introduced changes to the proposed rezoning plan for Manhattan's east midtown district Wednesday in response to continued concerns over the controversial plan to increase development in an already dense neighborhood.

The city will advance funding for some of the mass transit and open space improvements associated with the plan as soon as the rezoning is OK'd, as opposed to waiting for developers to pay into the improvements, Bloomberg said in an op-ed published in the New York Daily News.
