Lumber Cos. To Pay $3.25M In Class Settlement

Law360, New York (February 5, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Three manufacturers accused of price-fixing in the construction industry's oriented strand board market have agreed to settlements totaling more than $3 million with a class of indirect purchasers in the multidistrict litigation.

Under the settlements, whose outlines were delineated in a motion filed Jan. 29 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, Ainsworth Lumber Co. Ltd. and Georgia-Pacific LLC will each pay $1.2 million to the class, which was certified last August, and J.M. Huber Corp. will pay $850,000.
