Super Juice Co. Makes Bogus Health Claims, Suit Says

Law360, New York (August 5, 2013, 1:10 PM EDT) -- A New Jersey woman launched a putative class action against "superfood" juice maker Mona Vie Inc. on Thursday, claiming the company's backers are once again hawking bogus health drinks via a predatory pyramid scheme years after the government shut down a previous, nearly identical company.

Plaintiff Lisa Pontrelli says the company charges an “outrageously inflated” $45 per 25-ounce bottle of Mona Vie juice, which purports to offer everything from miraculous medical breakthroughs to more beautiful skin but delivers little more than empty promises.
