High Court Ponders NLRB Role In Arbitration Rulings

Law360, New York (February 6, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The U.S. Supreme Court may take up a case that could clarify the roles of arbitrators and the National Labor Relations Board regarding final wage offers imposed by employers when reopened negotiations reach an impasse.

The high court is expected to decide next week on whether to take the case, in which parking garage operator Five Star Parking reduced wages to its workers by 12.5% after declaring that an impasse had been reached during reopener negotiations.
