Fla. Law Firm Accused Of Running Mortgage Relief Scams

Law360, Miami (August 8, 2013, 7:57 PM EDT) -- The Florida Attorney General's Office filed suit Thursday against Tampa lawyer Eric Mader, his firm Mader Law Group and his business partner Sean Batcheler for allegedly running an abusive and deceptive practice that preyed on people with mortgage troubles.

The suit claims several violations of the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act, including counts for deceptive websites and violations of the Mortgage Assistance Relief Services rule enacted under the Federal Trade Commission Act.
