USA Funds Invaded Privacy With Debt Calls, Class Suit Says

Law360, Chicago (August 9, 2013, 5:13 PM EDT) -- United Student Aid Funds Inc. was targeted in a putative class action filed in California federal court Thursday alleging that the student loan administrator has invaded consumers' privacy by making unsolicited debt collection calls to their cellphones.

New Jersey resident Shyriaa Henderson is accusing the defendant, a nonprofit organization that does business as USA Funds and administers student loans, of violating the Telephone Consumer Protection Act by calling her wireless phone from 2009 through June 2013.
