Law360, Los Angeles (August 13, 2013, 4:14 PM EDT) -- A Washington federal judge on Friday granted final approval to the U.S. Department of Justice’s plan to sign off on Verizon Communications Inc.’s $3.9 billion deal to buy up spectrum from four of the country’s largest cable companies, finding the DOJ’s revisions are in the public interest.
The decision comes a year after the DOJ signed off on Verizon’s deal but limited a related joint venture and a series of cross-marketing deals that the agency warned could have hindered competition.
