Delta Merger Raises Major Antitrust Issues: Lawmaker

Law360, New York (February 7, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Concerned by the wave of airline consolidations, the head of the U.S. House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure has vowed to object to the proposed marriage between Delta Air Lines Inc. and either of its rivals.

While speculation still swirls about which mate Delta might pick — Northwest Airlines or United Airlines — Rep. James Oberstar (D-Minn.) contends that neither deal would benefit consumers.
