Paint Pigment Cos. Lose Bid To Ax Antitrust MDL

Law360, New York (August 15, 2013, 5:34 PM EDT) -- A Maryland federal judge on Wednesday refused to drop a class of paint companies' price-fixing suit against Kronos Worldwide Inc. and Cristal USA Inc., ruling there was enough evidence to support claims that the chemical makers fixed the price of a paint component. 

U.S. District Judge Richard D. Bennett denied the companies' requests for summary judgment, rejecting their claims that there was just as much proof that the pricing the plaintiffs challenged stemmed from normal competition as evidence that it resulted from collusion.
