No Mass Tort For Tylenol Liver Cases In NJ

Law360, New York (August 16, 2013, 7:58 PM EDT) -- The New Jersey Supreme Court this month refused a request from McNeil-PPC Inc. and Johnson & Johnson to grant multicounty litigation status to lawsuits in the state blaming acetaminophen in Tylenol products for severe liver damage.

The high court determined that such cases weren't fit for centralized management in Middlesex County Superior Court, as the companies had requested, according to a notice posted Aug. 8. J&J is based New Brunswick, N.J., where the court is located.
