Tetley Escapes Tea Products False Advertising Class Action

Law360, Chicago (August 19, 2013, 2:29 PM EDT) -- A California federal judge on Friday tossed a class action that accused Tetley USA Inc. of misleading consumers about the health benefits of its teas, finding that the complaint did not lay out the fraud claims in enough detail.

U.S. District Judge Edward J. Davila issued a brief order dismissing the suit, which claimed that Tetley’s website and product labels made inaccurate boasts about the antioxidants and nutrients present in the company’s teas, among other false health claims.
