Lawmakers Subpoena EPA's Documents On Emissions

Law360, New York (February 8, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Rep. Henry A. Waxman (D.-Calif.) has subpoenaed documents related to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's decision in December to reject the state of California's request to adopt strict greenhouse gas emissions standards for automobiles.

The documents were a part of a presentation staffers made to EPA Administrator Stephen L. Johnson in October 2007, according to the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, which Waxman chairs and which announced the subpoena Friday.
