Contractor, Insurers Sued For $2.5M Over LA Water Project

Law360, Chicago (August 22, 2013, 5:23 PM EDT) -- Helix Electric Inc. sued contractor Taisei T&K Joint Venture and three insurance companies Wednesday in California state court, claiming it was shorted $2.5 million for work on a Los Angeles-area public works project in violation of its subcontract.

The dispute stems from a $26.4 million subcontract Helix entered into with T&K in 2007 for electrical work on the expansion of the Lancaster Water Reclamation Plant. The insurers — Liberty Mutual Insurance Co., Zurich American Insurance Co., and Fidelity and Deposit Co. of Maryland — issued a...
