Background Check Co. Flouts Consumer Protection Laws: Suit

Law360, Chicago (August 22, 2013, 4:00 PM EDT) -- American Databank LLC has been hit with a class action accusing the Denver-based background check company of flouting federal laws designed to guard against inaccurate consumer reports, according to a suit removed to California federal court last week.

Plaintiff Jane Roe alleges that an error-laden American Databank criminal history report got her admission to nursing school revoked in 2010, and that the company did not make the necessary disclosures before issuing it.
