University Coach's $19M Gender Bias Award Slashed

Law360 (February 11, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- A California judge has slashed a $19.1 million jury award to a former women's university basketball coach, while preserving the ruling in favor of her sexual harassment and gender discrimination claims.

Giving some weight to California State University's objections to the jury award, state Superior Court Judge Donald Black cut the award to $6.6 million, finding the sum excessive.
